Our Process

Planning your outdoor transformation.

Your journey to a more beautiful outdoor space is about to begin. Below is what you can expect from our landscape design and construction process.
1.

Set up an initial consultation.

Your gardens are a reflection of you. Your values, your background, your interests, your home and retreat — these are the key elements we dig into before we start any design.

At our first meeting, which will be held at the property you’d like to enhance, we’ll spend time getting to know each other. We’ll ask you questions to truly uncover your vision — and needs — for your space. We’ll also spend some time making sure we’re on the same page regarding the project scope. At this time, our team will share an estimate of the design cost with you.

2.

Starting with site planning.

Once you’ve agreed to move ahead with us and paid a design fee deposit, our team will get to work gathering all the necessary information. This includes taking measurements and inventory of your property, analyzing this data with architects and builders and creating a base plan.

The base plan is what we use as we begin designing concepts.

3.

Entering the design phase.

Landmark Group projects look different because of ingenuity but also because of our design methodology. In our initial “Blue-Sky” phase of the design process, we round-table ideas and artistically hand-sketch a vision with a thorough site inventory.

  • Collaborative meetings.
Our design process includes collaborative meetings with you and our Design Manager, Landscape Architect and Construction experts. We like to work with your Architect and Builder to share ideas and forecast any adjustments including site design, grading & drainage, tree management, foundation lines and materials.

  • Stunning sketches and immersive 3D renderings.
From perspective sketches through to our custom 3D renderings, we help get you “into your landscape” in order to fully envision the design. When developing a Master plan, we go beyond. We also counsel in areas like materials, furniture, urns, garden enhancement and landscape lighting.

  • Finalizing construction drawings & detailed cost estimate.
Following any feedback from our construction team and horticulturists, we craft a precise set of construction drawings followed by a tailored planting plan in order to prepare a detailed cost estimate.

We are passionate about concept development and don’t let some computer program dictate or present your initial ideas. After all, this is about creating artful and inspiring landscapes.

4.

Signing your contract & paying a deposit.

Before we begin construction on your project, a signed copy of your contract and a deposit cheque is required. The contract will include a schedule of required progress during the project.

5.

Construction begins!

As we schedule your construction start date, you’ll have a chance to meet with your project manager and other members of our team. You’ll be given phone numbers to call if you ever have any questions or concerns.

Once scheduled, our crews will arrive on-time, act courteously while on-site and will leave the site clean and tidy at the end of the day.

6.

Wrapping up your project.

Once construction is complete, your project manager will walk through everything with you to ensure nothing is amiss. You will receive a final invoice at this point, as well as a detailed overview of our three-year warranty.

Finally, you will have the option to sign up for a yearly property care package to protect your investment for years to come.
