Bespoke Beachfront
The perfect place for a dream home.
A double lot on Georgian Bay waterfront is hard to come by — especially with a direct sunrise view. The goal of this project was to build the client’s dream beachside family home and future retirement residence.
Complementing the architecture.
The architecture is modern yet subdued and relaxed. Creating a similar coastal feel to the landscape proved more difficult than one may initially think. Particularly transitioning from the house to the beach comfortably while creating the necessary erosion control and buffer between the house, sand and waves.
Peace that comes naturally.
The design used natural materials to create soft, easy-flowing gathering spaces. The waves are kept at bay with a large granite retention wall placed organically along the shoreline. This beach-house seamlessly blends into its landscape… it’s comfortable and peaceful yet has a dynamic, ever-changing vista of water and sky.

Comfortable yet dynamic.
Natural stone patios and steps, thermal ash decking and stairs and a fully sheltered pergola system make this landscape ready for anything.
A sunken hot tub, rock-mounted shower and foot-washing station makes unwinding in the water a breeze.
An outdoor wood-burning fireplace, cottage-style materials and mature privacy trees create an intimate feel.
Special features include a granite erosion control boulder retention system as well as kayak/SUP racks.
